Installation Instructions

Download:
AOR-GQRX-RPi-0.1.0.tar.gz


Installation
------------

Open a terminal in the directory containing the downloaded file and enter:

tar -xzf AOR-GQRX-RPi-0.1.0.tar.gz
cd AOR-GQRX-RPi-0.1.0
./install.sh

Do not run install.sh with sudo. The installer will request administrator
privileges when required.


Starting GQRX
-------------

After installation, launch Gqrx from the Raspberry Pi menu.

The AOR launcher will automatically:

- check the Raspberry Pi hardware
- check for the AOR I/Q USB interface
- load the volatile AOR I/Q firmware when required
- start GQRX
- restore the Raspberry Pi CPU governor when GQRX exits


First Run Configuration
-----------------------

The first time GQRX is started, configure the receiver as follows:

Device:
    AOR I/Q Receiver

Input rate:
    1125000

This corresponds to the native AOR I/Q sample rate of 1.125 MS/s.

After selecting the AOR I/Q Receiver and setting the input rate, start GQRX
normally. GQRX should remember these settings for subsequent sessions.

Frequency changes made in GQRX are sent directly to the connected AOR
receiver through the receiver control USB interface.


Important
---------

Both USB connections to the AOR receiver are required:

- Receiver control USB
- I/Q USB

The AOR I/Q firmware is volatile and is lost when the I/Q interface loses
power. This is normal. The AOR GQRX launcher automatically reloads the
firmware when necessary.

The SoapyAOR software is released under the GNU General Public License
version 3 or later, continuing the GPL licensing of AOR's original Linux
I/Q capture software.
